Title: Long Haul Truck Driver (NOC: 7411)

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: $24.00 to $28.00 hourly, minimum 40 hours per week with potential for 60 hours weekly

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
Experience: Because of the nature of road conditions, as well dangerous goods being transported, more than one year of work experience would be a tremendous asset
• Loading and unloading of goods
interpreting and completing paperwork ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Able to pass industry specific training such as Transport of Dangerous Goods and WHMIS
• Plan travel schedules and routes
• Use atlases and other trip planning aids
• Receive and relay information to central dispatcher
• Drive as part of a two-person team or single
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment
• Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness

Tankers (Tridem Tank Truck, Tridem Truck and Pup, Tridem Insulated Stainless With Heat, Tandem Tank Truck, Tandem Insulated Heated Stainless Tanker, #406 Super B Petroleum Tankers, Waste Oil Tankers).
Bins (Tridem Roll Off, Super B Roll Off Trailer).
Other Vehicles (Roll Off Trucks, Dry Van, Step Decks, Trailers).
Type of Travel: Long-haul, Provincial/territorial, International
Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Accident or incident reports.
Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone, Satellite tracking (GPS) equipment
Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
Transportation/Travel Information: Must be able to travel cross-border, willing to travel for extended periods.
Security and Safety: Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Commercial Driving record check (abstract), Medical exam, Drug test Work Conditions
